Minister Wants More Nightlife

By Kilamxx

It was reported in the media last week that the Malaysian Tourism Ministry wants longer opening hours for shopping complexes, entertainment outlets and restaurants, believing that this will bring in more tourists.
Its minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the ministry had proposed that the operating hours for entertainment outlets in the country be extended from 2 am until 5 am to attract more foreigners.
The minister also proposed that the taxes on wine and beer be reduced as the price of liquor in the country is too high compared with that of neighbouring countries.
This news was welcomed by a number of people that our correspondent met on the streets. The following are some of their comments:-

Mat Aris, Unemployed : It's great, brader. More places open, easier to get barang.

Dillip 'Der Man' Kumar, Deliveryman : Oh man, I can quit my day job and do this full time now. Pst, wanna buy some Adams(Ecstacy) ?

Jack 'Gulper' Stanley, Plumber :That's what I like about his great country of yours - cheap booze.

Peter S. Jones, CEO Karl's Bug Breweries: Bringing down the tax on liquor is a healthy sign for this country's economy. We hope to place our products on every table in every home. Cheers.

Richard Ho, Co-proprietor 'Dead Beat' Nightclub: Wonderful, wonderful news. Great for employment. We'll be recruiting more bouncers tomorrow from the backstreets.

The crowd at 'The Sook' Disco: Three cheers for Tengku Adnan! We're gonna party till dawn!

Pardon me, but is our Dear Minister a MUSLIM?? Well, his words seems to speak louder than his faith though??

Anyway, can't be too certain of a persons religion in Malaysia by just their name, can we? ... Article 11, anyone??

Apples,
Seems like the minister wants to make sure that the number of tourists increases, no matter the cost, by hook or by crook. Thanks for the compliment.

Styxian,
In this person's case he should have his religion embossed in VERY LARGE FONTS on his ID or better still, written in LARGE LETTERS on his back. Definitely cannot tell otherwise. :)
